Our masterfully talented builder Selkit Diller has just completed Club Zed, the dancing club that serves as background for Rifkin Habsburg’s newest game, Zingo.
Rifkin, a very talented games designer, winning some awards for SL-based games in the past, is one of Beta Technologies’ oldest customer — Moon Adamant also created the “Frootcake Diner” building for the game of the same name.
There was already some press coverage on Rifkin’s new game on New World Notes (which shows Club Zed in the background) and the Second Life Herald.
Sunbelt Software, a Florida-based company developing anti-virus, anti-spam, and firewalling software, is opening its private island in Second Life on Feb. 5th, 2007, with a presentation by Sunbelt Software’s CEO, Stu Source (Stu Sjouwerman) at 3 PM SLT.
This island will support Sunbelt Software’s vigorous existing online user community of
about 30,000 users, giving them an additional space where they will be able to join and meet together. Under the motto “We keep the bad guys out of your PC”, Sunbelt Software’s offerings in Second Life, besides their corporate building based on the real life one (which includes meeting spaces), are a lot of freebies, shops, in-world games, and a community area where Sunbelt Software will host events — from discussions to quizzes —where the prizes will be free licenses to their software.
Sunbelt Software’s users will also have a way to register and login directly to Sunbelt Software’s island, where a small orientation area and a public sandbox await their pleasure.
Zarachnia Wilder has reported today on the opening of Language Lab, our customers, who are doing a language school in Second Life. This is a small private subcontinent which will allow students to learn languages in a “conversation school”, where, instead of having the teachers ask the students to “pretend” to be “acting” in a certain environment, they will be able to see the environment, since it’s inside Second Life.
